THE PERNAMBUCO WOOD EXCHANGE

With a current stock of 700 kg of raw or planked wood and around 900 sticks, IPCI France-Europe has decided to set up this Pernambuco wood exchange to enable young bow makers to build up a stock of legal wood.

This exchange is open only to members of IPCI France-Europe.

For its first year of operation in 2024, it will only concern buyers and sellers who have made themselves known among our members.

As this exchange is intended to last over time, members of the association will be kept regularly informed of the availability of legal wood, and each new seller or buyer will be able to join the list corresponding to their status.

How does it work?

• The list of sellers is communicated to buyers.
• Buyers' lists are sent to sellers.
• They contact each other directly.

To ensure that everything runs smoothly, please follow the instructions below:

For sellers:

1. Check that the buyer is registered on the latest list sent by IPCI France-Europe.
2. Provide the buyer with formal proof that the wood you are offering for sale is legal, by supplying a copy of the 2007 stock declaration and/or pre-2007 purchase invoices. If post-2007 stock, purchase invoice bearing the CITES reference of the transaction or CITES import permit.
3. Transfer to IPCI France-Europe the sum of €2 per kg or per baguette sold.
4. Notify the association of the quantity of wood sold for each transaction, so that IPCI France-Europe can keep its supply of legal Pernambuco up to date.

For buyers :

1. Check that the seller is registered on the latest list sent by IPCI France-Europe.
2. Check the documents provided by the seller. If you have any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to contact IPCI France-Europe.
3. Pay IPCI France-Europe the sum of €2 per kg or baguette purchased.
