Since 1890, the Chambre Syndicale de la Facture Instrumentale has brought together manufacturers and craftsmen who make, repair, restore, distribute and export musical instruments and related accessories. It also includes retailers, five professional associations of luthiers (Aladfi, Glaaf, Aplg, Unfi, Uffip) and the professional organization of piano technicians (Europiano France).
IPCI USA's mission is to promote the conservation, replanting and sustainable use of pernambuco, so precious in nature and for string music, on the basis of science, so that it flourishes for many generations to come.
IPCI Deutschland eV is a non-profit association. It was founded in 2002 by archers and is part of an international association of this professional group. Its aim is to promote the conservation of Caesalpinia echinata.
On October 24, 2023, the Initiative Arbres et Musique association was born of the desire of a group of musical instrument and woodworking professionals to think and act for the Conservation, Study and Valorization of wood used in the manufacture of musical instruments.
The International Society of Violin and Bow Makers, known informally as Entente (EILA.org), was founded in 1950. Its members are master luthiers trained in traditional techniques using basic hand tools handed down from generation to generation. The Entente was created to support and protect these ancestral methods, which have made it possible to create the finest instruments and bows ever made. Today, it has 161 members from 25 countries.
